Message to clients:
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Rhode Island with extensive experience supporting children and families whose lives have been deeply affected by traumatic events. I also have a background successfully working with young adults with anxiety, depression and ADHD who want to achieve a marked improvement in their daily functioning and/or quality of life.
I also recently started working with couples using the Gottman Method. I tremendously enjoy working with couples to help improve their overall communication with one another while assisting them in nourishing their bond and commitment to one another. I am now being formally trained in the Gottman Method so I can continue to work with couples effectively in treatment.
My approach to therapy is a combination of strengths-based therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and family/client centered therapy. I strongly believe in the autonomy of my clients and encourage a collaborative relationship.
Clients describe me as very caring, supportive, and easy to talk to. I am a good listener and offer unbiased, nonjudgmental, gentle guidance and solutions to the unique challenges clients bring to session.
I would like to acknowledge that coming to therapy is the first step to getting help and showing that you are committed to working on yourself. Let's work together to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Your goals are my goals, and I am ready to help you when you are ready.
