Healing Through Writing

Find peace & make connections through therapeutic writing exercises.

A supportive space to incorporate journaling and writing into your wellness routine.

You’re either in therapy, or have been in therapy before, but still find yourself ruminating about the past. You notice the same thought patterns getting triggered time and again, despite the progress you’ve made in other areas.

You find yourself stuck in negative self-talk, telling yourself, “I’m not good enough,” “Nobody really cares,” or, “I have to be perfect.”

You’ve thought about others ways to address these issues- more therapy, medication, exercising, etc. and maybe you’ve even tried some of them. You’re motivated to change, but the things you’ve been doing are feeling stale or stagnant on their own. You’re ready to try something new and different.

You’ve enjoyed writing or journaling at different times in your life. Maybe you have a regular writing practice, either creative or journalistic, or maybe you’re just interested in trying it out. Either way, putting pen to paper in the therapy space sounds intriguing.

You’re interested in a therapeutic writing group because….

You enjoy writing/journaling already or are interested in giving it a try.

You identify as a creative/introspective person who is interested in new ways of processing your past and healing your present.

You find yourself stuck in patterns you haven’t been able to break in traditional talk therapy.

You’re seeking a nonjudgmental community of like-minded people to learn with and from.

Here’s what we’ll do together

Writing our way to better self-worth, together.

Coming into a therapy group can be anxiety provoking.

We’ll start each session with a grounding exercise to clear your mind and calm your body.

You may be nervous or unsure about how or what to write.

You’ll be given open-ended prompts to provide some structure/guidance while leaving room for your own process.

You’ll begin to reflect on your patterns and experiences, making connections between your past and present.

Engaging in this work alongside others provides a sense of support and community, reducing feelings of shame and isolation that sometimes surface when doing this type of reflection.

You’ll learn how the stories you tell yourself shape your feelings and behaviors, and identify healthier ways to interact with yourself and others.

You’ll also focus on how you want to show up in your future and learn strategies to make your vision a reality.

You’ll be given the opportunity to share and discuss your writing, but never forced to.

We will end the group with another grounding exercise to release any stress and reset before leaving.

The bottom line is, this group is about better understanding where you’ve been, the stories that shape your present, and taking steps to improve your future.

You’ll leave this group with increased self-awareness, self-worth, and hope for the future.

Writing is a powerful tool for healing.

This 6-week, in-person group for adults seeking increased self-worth provides the tools and community to understand and release limiting beliefs.

Imagine a life where…

You approach challenges with resilience and a belief in your own abilities.

〰️

You treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would offer a close friend, acknowledging your struggles without judgment and allowing yourself grace to learn and grow from mistakes.

〰️

You recognize the impact of your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, and use this insight to make intentional choices and adapt in various situations.

〰️

Approach life with confidence, set healthy boundaries, pursue your goals with determination, and engage with others in a way that reflects your belief in your own worth.
